Thailand’s award-winning GranMonte Vineyard and Winery has launched its exclusive UNCORKED series with a radiant rooftop affair that truly set the tone for the year. Held at the elegant Nusara Rooftop, the first edition of GranMonte UNCORKED brought together Thailand’s leading food and beverage professionals, wine lovers, media and influencers, and artisans for an unforgettable afternoon of celebration, connection, and discovery.
GranMonte Vineyards and Winery, a family-run vineyard located in the lush Asoke Valley of Khao Yai, is internationally celebrated for pioneering Thai viticulture and crafting premium wines that express a true sense of place. The UNCORKED series is their latest initiative — a quarterly, invite-only tasting designed to unveil new vintages and specialty releases in creative collaboration with top venues and artisans across Thailand.
The debut event was co-hosted by Chef “Ton” Thitid Tassanakajohn and his brother, wine connoisseur “Tam” Chaisiri Tassanakajohn, the visionary duo behind Nusara Bangkok— one of Asia’s most talked-about Thai fine dining restaurants. With its rooftop space of stunning views of Bangkok’s palaces and a signature mix of Thai heritage and modern flair, Nusara offered the perfect launchpad for GranMonte UNCORKED.
Under a glass sunroof that bathed the space in golden light, guests enjoyed a standing cocktail-style tasting featuring 2024 GranMonte Elements Natural Wine Syrah, 2023 GranMonte Gradient Syrah Grenache Mourvèdre, 2024 GranMonte Bussaba Natural Sweet Wine, NV GranMonte Crémant Méthode Traditionnelle Extra Brut, 2024 GranMonte Elements Natural Wine Chenin Blanc and 2024 GranMonte Gradient Verdelho. Each wine was paired with specially crafted canapés that highlighted local ingredients while enhancing the wines’ nuanced profiles.
Guests enjoyed refined Thai canapés from Nusara’s kitchen, including the Kratong Tong with sea grape and coconut relish paired with Verdelho 2024 Elements, and Miang Fish—a bite of aged grouper topped with Dala sorbet.
A trumpet player layered funky live melodies over DJ grooves, creating an upbeat, soulful vibe. Around the room, local artisans like VIVIN (Thai artisan cheeses and charcuterie) and PRIDI Cocoa, along with GranMonte’s wine served in Lucaris (glassware), offered tastings and stories that added depth to the experience and underscored the event’s core theme — the union of Thai terroir and craftsmanship.
The vision behind UNCORKED is to gather the industry’s brightest minds, talents, and most passionate palates in an intimate setting and celebrate GranMonte’s deep history and bright vision for the future alongside the GranMonte ‘Lohitnavy’ family; Visooth (father), Sakuna (mother), Nikki (daugher) and Mimi (daughter).
Guests left with full hearts and already buzzing about the next edition. The UNCORKED series will continue throughout 2025, with each event revealing a new secret location and theme that reflects the character of the featured wines. Each event will be strictly by invitation only.
