Jim Thompson, the iconic global lifestyle brand from Thailand, unveils Weaving Hearts, an exclusive collaboration with celebrated contemporary Thai artist and designer Phannapast Taychamaythakool. Created in celebration of Thai Mother’s Day, the limited-edition collection transforms Phannapast’s whimsical hand-drawn illustrations into silk scarves, men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, bags, and accessories that celebrate mothers through stories of love, resilience, individuality, and strength. The launch event welcomed actors Jirayu “James” Tangsrisuk and Chris Horwang, who reflected on their relationships with their mothers and shared their appreciation for Jim Thompson’s enduring craftsmanship.

Moving beyond idealized portrayals, Weaving Hearts presents a nuanced perspective on motherhood, embracing its complexity and individuality. Each design reflects on mothers as dreamers, caregivers, protectors, and individuals. Inspired by nature, Thai culture, and emotional connection, the collection becomes a tribute to the invisible threads that bind families.
A contemporary Thai artist and designer, Phannapast Taychamaythakool is renowned for her richly detailed works that blend childhood wonder, nature, mythology, and Thai cultural references into dreamlike worlds. Her distinctive style has attracted collaborations with leading international brands while remaining deeply rooted in her Thai heritage. For Weaving Hearts, she translates these signature narratives into wearable works of art, brought to life through Jim Thompson’s renowned textile craftsmanship.

The collection unfolds through a series of symbolic hand-drawn motifs, each expressing a different dimension of maternal love. ‘Fluttering’ portrays a lioness gently lifting her cub toward a butterfly while carefully holding its tail to protect it from falling, a reminder that a mother’s love can be both fierce and tender, even when misunderstood. ‘Guided’ features an elephant and her calf walking side by side, symbolizing guidance, quiet strength, and unwavering companionship. ‘Pla Tapian’, inspired by the traditional woven palm-leaf fish hung above a baby’s cradle, represents blessings of prosperity, protection, and care. Completing the visual story, ‘The Seed’ trim reimagines the classic paisley motif as a growing seed, celebrating every child’s unique journey and the freedom to flourish in their way.
These illustrations appear across a ready-to-wear collection of silk scarves, flowing dresses, kaftans, kimonos, shirts, wide-leg trousers, bags, and lifestyle accessories in two timeless colorways inspired by soft sky blues and warm earth tones. Signature trims frame each design, while Jim Thompson’s expertise in textile craftsmanship faithfully preserves every intricate line and detail of the artist’s original artwork.

“This collaboration reflects Jim Thompson’s commitment to celebrating Thai creativity through meaningful partnerships,” says Nunnapat Verojanavat, Marketing Director of Jim Thompson. “By bringing Phannapast’s distinctive artistic vision together with our craftsmanship, Weaving Hearts showcases Thailand’s creative culture to a global audience. As we celebrate Thai Mother’s Day, we hope this collection stands as a celebration of motherhood.”

Phannapast Taychamaythakool adds, “Weaving Hearts is my celebration of mothers as they truly are. They don’t have to carry the weight of being perfect to be extraordinary. They are people with dreams, vulnerability, resilience, and unconditional love. Every animal, every pattern, and every detail carries its own story about the different ways love is expressed.”
The collaboration underscores Jim Thompson’s commitment to preserving Thailand’s rich craftsmanship while embracing contemporary artistic expression. By collaborating with leading Thai artists, the brand continues to celebrate the country’s creative heritage and introduce new perspectives on Thai design to audiences worldwide.
The Weaving Hearts collection will be available from July 23, 2026 at Jim Thompson stores nationwide and online
